William H. Randel

Mr. Randel died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, in Lawrence.

He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in rural Douglas County, the son of Robert R. and Dora Ellen (Lucas) Randel. He attended Coal Creek Rural School and graduated from Vinland High School in 1940.

Mr. Randel worked for the city of Baldwin and retired as its city superintendent in January 1985.

He married Thelma Lederer on March 29, 1941, in Harrisonville, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Jeanie Frank, Wellsville, and Dee Augustus, Lawrence; four sons, Lee and Ron, both of Baldwin, Gary, Orlando, Fla., and Wayne, York, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin, where family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
