Overbrook ? An Overbrook woman was killed when her car ran off the road into a culvert late Sunday afternoon less than three miles north of Overbrook on an Osage County road.

Pearl Moore, 78, died at the scene of the accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 5:24 p.m. Sunday on Shawnee Heights Road, about 2.7 miles north of the junction with U.S. Highway 56 in Osage County, the patrol said.

The woman was driving south on Shawnee Heights Road, when her 1992 Oldsmobile veered left into the oncoming lane and struck a concrete culvert in the east ditch, according to state troopers.
