Conchola services

Services for Alex Conchola, 51, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Conchola died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 24, 1951, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of David S. and Frances (Martinez) Conchola. He grew up in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Kansas University and received his master’s degree from Wichita State University.

Mr. Conchola was a program services senior specialist at National Rural Health Assn. in Kansas City, Mo., at the time of his death. Before that, he was executive director at Douglas County Senior Services and later at Kansas City Free Health Clinic.

He married Tina George on Sept. 4, 1974, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his mother, Kansas City, Mo.; six sisters, Mary Garcia, Grandview, Mo., Liz Gonzalez, Carol A. Hernandez and Helen Charney, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Anna M. Harvey and Trish Montano, both of St. Louis; two brothers, David, Kansas City, Mo., and Ernest, Brighton, Mich.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.

The family suggests memorials to American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
