Hornets cut Livingston, activate guard Drew

New Orleans — The New Orleans Hornets released Randy Livingston Wednesday and activated guard Bryce Drew from the injured list. Drew missed the last 12 games with an inflamed foot.

He has averaged 1.4 points in 11 games with the Hornets this season. Livingston was signed to a 10-day contract Jan. 27. He played in two games, averaging three points.

Nets’ Martin ailing

Philadelphia — New Jersey Nets forward Kenyon Martin left Wednesday night’s game at Philadelphia with a sprained left knee, but said he would be back for the team’s next game. Martin played the entire first quarter, scoring four points and grabbing five rebounds. He went to the locker room after the quarter and didn’t return.

Memphis’ Williams sits because of sore left foot

Salt Lake City — Memphis Grizzlies guard Jason Williams did not dress for Wednesday night’s game against the Utah Jazz because of a sore left foot. Williams injured the foot Monday late in a loss at Golden State.

It’s the first miss of the season for Williams, who started the Grizzlies’ first 43 games of the season and is third on the team at 11.7 points per game and leads Memphis with 319 assists.

Earl Watson replaced Williams and made his first NBA start.
