Easum services

Services for Shirley Ann Easum, 67, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Easum died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at her home.

She was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Bigelow, the daughter of George James and Anna Bessie (Burton) Stevens. She attended Lawrence schools and graduated in 1953 from Liberty Memorial High School.

Mrs. Easum was a head checker at Kroger’s and a court clerk for the city of Lawrence. She also ran a housecleaning business until she retired in 1994.

She married Darrel E. Easum on Nov. 6, 1953, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Andrew L. Easum and Douglas E. Easum, both of Lawrence, and John W. Easum, New Carlisle, Ind.; three sisters, Bell Whitesell, Manhattan, Mary Strickler, Archibald, Ohio, and Pat Kraus, Topeka; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
