Rain in the forecast

If you’re out on the town tonight, you might want to take along an umbrella.

“We could see some showers later today through this evening and later tonight,” said Matt Jacobs, 6News meteorologist. “The best chance will be after midnight.”

Although the skies will be murky, the temperature is expected to be above the freezing mark through the weekend, he said.

Today’s high will be 52. The temperature will remain mild overnight, dropping by Saturday morning to 46.

Saturday’s high will climb to 57, with breezy conditions and a 50 percent chance of rain, with some possible thunderstorms.

“The heavy rains should wait until afternoon,” Jacobs said. “Sunday morning’s temperature will drop to about 40. So there’s very little chance for any of the precipitation to be frozen. “

Later on Sunday, the skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high of around 44.
