  • Approve all claims.
  • Approve drinking establishment license for Paradise Cafe, 728 Mass.
  • Approve retail liquor license for Texas Jacks Liquor, 3020 S. Iowa.

Bid and purchase items:

  • Authorize mayor and city clerk to execute certification of real property acquisition procedures and right-of-way clearance for improvements to O’Connell Road, 23rd to 31st streets. This project will be bid by the state in February.
  • Award 21st Street, Kentucky Street to Barker Court (Phase 2), which is a box culvert construction on 19th Street and Learnard Avenue, to R.D. Johnson Excavating in the amount of $421,800.
  • Approve workers’ compensation excess insurance coverage for 2004 with Employers Reinsurance Corp. (ERC) in the amount of $36,612 and approve continuing the last year of current three-year policy with The Cincinnati Insurance Co. for boiler and machinery coverage in the amount of $3,620.
  • Award bid for comprehensive housing rehabilitation projects as follows: 1) 1649 Edgehill Road to General Construction in the amount of $33,888; 2) 1345 N.J. to L&S Sales and Services in the amount of $12,994; and 3) 1235 Ky. to General Construction in the amount of $33,777.
  • Approve payment to Alcott LC in the amount of $19,000 for the acquisition of various property interests at 1900 Barker Ave. required for the 19th Street and Barker Avenue roundabout and related road improvements project.
  • Set a bid date of Dec. 23 for Project No. 63-CR2-1203(C), Concrete Repair Program, Phase 2.
  • Set bid opening date of Dec. 30 for the installation of a wood fence and property gates at the south property line of Habitat Neighborhood Addition No. 4.
  • Adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 7730, an amendment of CPA-2003-01, Transportation 2025 Major Thoroughfares Maps into Horizon 2020.

Adopt the following ordinances on second and final reading:

  • Ordinance No. 7719, amending Section 17-212 of the City Code concerning truck routes and truck delivery routes.
  • Ordinance No. 7720, amending the schedule of truck delivery routes.

Adopt the following resolutions:

  • Resolution No. 6514, establishing Jan. 13 as the public hearing date for a special assessment benefit district for stormwater improvements, drainage easement and conservation easement at Orchards Golf Course.
  • Resolution No. 6516, declaring 2720 Ponderosa Drive environmentally and structurally blighted and ordering the property owner to remove within 20 days. Failure of property owner to comply will result in city removing the violations.

Approve unanimous recommendations from the Traffic Safety Commission for the following:

  • Installation of a T symbol warning sign on Ousdahl Road at 26th Street.
  • Installation of stop signs on Fourth Street at Perry Street.
  • Installation of a T symbol warning sign on Crestline Drive at 24th Street.
  • Installation of no parking along the west side of Belle Haven Drive and re-establish parking along the east side of Belle Haven Drive between 25th Street and Belle Meade Place.
  • Establish a 35 mph speed limit on Michigan Street between Second Street and Riverridge Road.
  • Establish a 35 mph speed limit on Monterey Way between Sixth Street and 15th Street.

¢ Receive 2002 Tax Abatement Report.

  • Authorize the mayor to sign a subordination agreement for Catherine McNish, 1002 Home Circle.

City manager’s report

  • Receive transit update from Karin Rexroad, transit administrator.

Regular agenda

  • Conduct a public hearing on the advisability of the construction of the following improvements: a) Monterey Way from Peterson Road north to Grand Vista Drive; b) Peterson Road from Kasold Drive to approximately 900 feet west of Monterey Way; c) intersection of Peterson Road and Kasold Drive.
  • Consider request from Marisa Clogston to install a stop sign at the intersection of 12th and Indiana streets.
  • Conduct a public hearing on final special assessments for the Overland Drive (Wakarusa Drive to Queens Road) benefit district.
