Soule-Ruddy

Sharon Soule and Thomas Ruddy

Sharon E. Soule and Thomas R. Ruddy II, both of Lawrence, were married Sept. 27, 2003, at El Encanto Hotel in Santa Barbara, Calif., with the Rev. Saral Burdette officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Edward and Judith Soule, Topeka. The groom is the son of Shirley Ruddy, Shawnee, and the late Thomas Ruddy.

The bride’s attendant was Steven Soule. Best man was Juan Dominguez.

A reception was given at the hotel.

The bride is a 1988 Topeka High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry in 1992 from Carleton College, Northfield, Minn. She earned her doctorate at Kansas University Medical Center in 1996. She is a hematologist/oncologist at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The groom is a 1986 graduate of Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City, Kan. He received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering at KU in 1990. He is a chemical engineer at River City Engineering, Lawrence.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Boyd-Boeken

Lisa Boyd and Roger Boeken

Lisa Ann Boyd and Roger Allen Boeken, both of Lawrence, were married July 19, 2003, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Peggy Boyd, Great Bend, and the late Doug Boyd. The groom is the son of Wilbur and Barbara Boeken, Wichita.

The bride was escorted by Austin Hooper and Cameron Hooper. Matron of honor was Sally Hooper. Best man was Donavan Harpool. Bridesmaid was Kim Dombrowski. Groomsman was Kent Matson. Ushers were Bob Dombrowski and Jim Hooper. Vocalist was Joel Frederick. Organist was Brad Shirer.

A reception was given at The Club at Stone Ridge in Great Bend.

The bride received a master’s degree in English from Fort Hays State University. She is an assistant principal at Free State High School.

The groom earned a master’s degree in environmental health science from Kansas University. He is an environmental geologist with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in Topeka.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Kayla and Jacob Crotts

Kayla Dreiling and Jacob Crotts, both of Lawrence, were married June 7, 2003, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence with the Rev. Bob Fleenor officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger Dreiling and Jean Dreiling, both of Lawrence. The groom is the son of Diana Chamberlain, Lawrence.

Matrons of honor were Traci Dreiling and Mandy Dreiling. Best man was Tyler Crotts. Bridesmaid was Sommer Heiserman. Groomsmen were Curtis Ledbetter and Matt Craft. Flower girl was Alexis Dreiling. Ring bearer was Tanner Smith. Soloist was Aletra Johnson.

A reception was given at The Dance Academy.

The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and Johnson County Community College. She is employed with Pines International.

The groom is a LHS graduate. He is a carpenter for L & S Management Services.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
