Governors wager on K-State vs. OU game

Whichever team wins the Big 12 Conference football title, one outcome is certain — elementary school students in either Kansas or Oklahoma are going to be read to by a governor.

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry made a friendly wager on the outcome of Saturday’s game between the Kansas State Wildcats and OU Sooners at Arrowhead Stadium.

If the Wildcats win, Henry visits Kansas and reads to students. If the Sooners win, Sebelius travels to Oklahoma for a grade-school reading.

“The Kansas State Wildcats bring power on the field and incredible fans around it,” Sebelius said. “These factors alone ensure Governor Henry better get his reading voice ready for Kansas children.”

Henry replied, “I look forward to what I am sure will be a dramatic and powerful reading by Governor Sebelius.”
