Milton Louis Polk

Mr. Polk died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was cremated.

He was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Prentiss, Miss., the son of Sam and Lillie (Cole) Polk. He was raised in Texas and moved to Lawrence in 1952.

Mr. Polk was a fireman in the power plant at Kansas University until he retired in 1992.

He married Eva Hicks on Aug. 5, 1956, in Lawrence. She died Dec. 30, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Arthur, Lawrence; a daughter, Ruth Rocker, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mildred Wall, Margie Knott and Dorothy Lamana; and two grandchildren.
