George C. Rodriguez

? Mass of Christian Burial for George C. Rodriguez, 71, Ottawa, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Rodriguez died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center, Topeka.

He was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Ottawa, the son of Leocadio and Soledad (Morales) Rodriguez.

He graduated from Ottawa High School, then attended Ottawa University.

Mr. Rodriguez was a truck driver for Bennett Creamery until the plant closed. He then spent 19 years driving for All-Star Dairy before working with Fairmont Dairy, from which he retired in 1993 after 17 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He also was a third-degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 32010, Ottawa, and fourth-degree member of the Knights’ St. Phillippine Duchesne Council No. 2260, Olathe. He was a member of Warehouse & Drivers Union No. 552, Kansas City, Mo.

He married Candelaria “Candy” Torrez on June 3, 1967, in Topeka. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sisters, Eloise Rodriguez, Tustin, Calif., and Connie Covert, Ottawa.

Friends may call after noon Monday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa, where the family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
