Earl M. Kinkaid

Services for Earl M. Kinkaid, 84, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Lawrence. A private inurnment will be later in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Mr. Kinkaid died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at his home.

He was born May 3, 1919, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Fred L. and Katherine (Heinrickson) Kinkaid.

He was served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Kinkaid worked as a supervisor for DuPont in Tecumseh for 40 years. He was a member of the Dorsey Liberty American Legion Post No. 14 and the First Baptist Church.

He married Marian Tufford on June 16, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa. She died in September 1982. He married Dixie Boyles on Oct. 5, 1985, in Omaha, Neb. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Raymond E., Florida; three daughters, Katherine Shipman, Weston, Mo., Carol Baughn, Overbrook, and Mary Ann Maurer, Lawrence; a stepson, Michael Hinz, Tennessee; two stepdaughters, Janet Hall, Albuquerque, N.M., and Julee Smith, Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the church or the American Legion, sent in care of the mortuary.
