Early services

? Graveside services for Gladys L. Early, 84, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mrs. Early died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Baldwin Care Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Lenexa, the daughter of Remie and Ellen (Renner) Brulez. She grew up and attended schools in the Lenexa area. She moved to Baldwin in 1945.

Mrs. Early worked at the W.R. Vermillion and Ed Early Manufacturing Co. in Baldwin until the company closed in the 1950s. She then moved to a farm outside Baldwin with her husband, and they owned and operated a furniture refinishing business for several years. She was a member of Ives Chapel United Methodist Church and Black Jack Ladies Club.

She married Edwin Early on July 1, 1950, in Baldwin. He died May 17, 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Dortha Collins, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Barthol; a grandson; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

A grandson died earlier.

The family suggests memorials to Baldwin Care Center for a future hospice room, sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin 66006.
