Kansas offering fans prizes for helping sell tickets

Kansas University’s athletic department is looking for some loyal fans — make that “Super Fans” — to help sell football tickets.

The Williams Fund has announced its “Super Fan” program which asks fans to call friends, family and business associates in an effort to land season-ticket holders.

Any “Super Fan” enlisting 10 or more individuals to buy a football season ticket will be invited to what the Williams Fund has deemed “a very special evening with Kansas athletic department officials and other KU VIPs.”

The person who sells the most football season tickets will receive a private pre-game hospitality tent for family and friends, honoring their “special dedication to helping build the KU football program.”

Fans who help enlist new season-ticket holders will be recognized during a home game. All who sign up will receive a Super Fan stadium chair.

Promotional sales materials will be provided to the “Super Fans” who can enlist by calling the Williams Fund at 785-864-3946. One also can enlist at the Website wef@ku.edu.

“The Super Fan program is an exciting new way to partner with our existing season-ticket holders and true Kansas football fans,” said Williams Fund director Jay Hinrichs. “With this program, one KU fan can be a part of what soon will be a great football program.”

KU also has its new “Pure” season ticket promotion ongoing on its kuathletics.com Website.

Every new season ticket holder will receiver a Pure blue T-shirt, decals, an autographed team captains photo, a countdown to kickoff magnet and entry in the Pure Kansas sweepstakes, which will award winners various prizes, such as a rooftop suite to the KU-Baylor homecoming game.

“The Pure Kansas football campaign rewards existing season-ticket holders as well as encourages those fans who might have bought a single-game ticket to buy season tickets this year and receive valuable Kansas football products. Existing season ticket holders can pick up their packages at Fan Appreciation Day,” Hinrichs said of the Aug. 20 event at Memorial Stadium.
