Fodor’s adds 3 guides for vacation planning

New York — You’ve already climbed the Eiffel Tower, snapped photos at Buckingham Palace and strolled Las Ramblas in Barcelona. So what are you going to do the next time you go to Europe?

Fodor’s has the answer in “Great European Itineraries” ($18.95), a guidebook to two dozen trips outside the big cities of Europe.

Also just out from Fodor’s: “Great American Vacations: 25 Affordable Family Trips to the USA’s Best-Loved Destinations” ($19.95), with chapters on popular big-city destinations like San Francisco and New York, the great outdoors from Yosemite to Cape Cod, or historic sites like Gettysburg, Pa.

And here’s a third Fodor’s offering to round out the batch: “1,001 Smart Travel Trips” ($9.95), which provides advice for fixing and preventing problems — and getting the most out of your money and time.

Traveling with toddlers requires some planning

Taking a vacation with a toddler takes preparation. The July issue of Parents magazine offers tips for making trips with little ones safe, smooth and fun.

Suggestions include: For a road trip, get started early in the morning, take a break mid-morning to eat and play, and do serious driving while the kids take a midday nap.

And be sure to pack a small bag of new books and toys to dole out during the trip.
