Fodor’s adds 3 guides for vacation planning

Traveling with toddlers requires some planning

Taking a vacation with a toddler takes preparation. The July issue of Parents magazine offers tips for making trips with little ones safe, smooth and fun.

Suggestions include: For a road trip, get started early in the morning, take a break mid-morning to eat and play, and do serious driving while the kids take a midday nap.

And be sure to pack a small bag of new books and toys to dole out during the trip.

Colorado directory lists campsites and more

An average price for a summer campsite in Colorado is $15 to $20 a night, according to the 24th annual edition of “The Colorado Directory of Campgrounds, Cabins, Mountain Lodges, Country Bed and Breakfast Inns, and Fun Things to Do.”

The directory lists 11,066 campsites at 200 campgrounds and RV parks, 267 camper cabins, 2,292 regular cabins, plus vacations homes, lodge rooms, bed-and-breakfast rooms, motel rooms and vacation suites and condos.
