University sets exams

Kansas University has announced the following final examinations:

  • Andreas Gille, pharmacology and toxicology, “Molecular Analysis of Gs-Proteins,” 9:30 a.m. Friday, 6065 Malott Hall.
  • Rong Chen, pharmacology and toxicology, “Role of Sex Hormones in Cocaine-Induced Behaviorally Sensitization and Neuroadaption: Behavioral and Neurochemical Analyses,” 2:30 p.m. Friday, 2049 Malott Hall.
  • Tomas Chacon Rivera, Spanish and Portuguese, “Intelectuales, martires y caudillos en el teatro de la Recolucion Mexicana,” 4 p.m. April 28, 3040 Wescoe Hall.

KU students receive science fellowships

Seven Kansas University students and graduates will receive National Science Foundation fellowships, the university announced Monday.

The foundation announced 900 fellows for the 2003-2004 year. The fellowships are worth up to $114,000 for three years of graduate study.

KU winners are Sarah Heimovics, a 2000 graduate from Fairway; Christina Vizcarra, a 2002 graduate from Leawood; Katie Mitchell-Koch, a senior from Wichita; Ian Tice, a senior from Tecumseh; Irene Karel, a doctoral student from Wilmington, Del.; Megan Sumpter, a 1999 graduate from Madisonville, La., and Ryan Kinser, a senior from Oklahoma City.
