Ronald Dean West

? Services for Ronald Dean West, 68, Eudora, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Eudora Chapel. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery, DeSoto.

He died Friday, April 4, 2003, at KU Med, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. West was born April 4, 1935, in DeSoto, the son of James Thomas and Margaret Josephine (Lawler) West.

He was a senior electrician for 43 years at Farmland Industries. He retired May 1, 1997.

Mr. West was a member of DeSoto Masonic Lodge No. 40 for 45 years and Scottish Rite Valley of Lawrence. He was past president of Local No. 516 of International Union of Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers in Lawrence; past president of Boy Scouts of Eudora; two-time past master of DeSoto Lodge, and past district grand master of District No. 13 of Kansas. He was past precinct committeeman of Eudora precinct and a member of the Rehabilitation Committee for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.

Mr. West married Clara A. Stout on Aug. 15, 1960, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Ross A., Gravois Mills, Mo.; raised as a son, William Dean Starr, Mission; two daughters, Michele M. West, Sabetha, and Lynda R. Creviston, Eudora; two brothers, Garry B., San Diego, and Larry, DeSoto; three sisters, Carol Sue Neumann, Vancouver, Wash., and Myrna Jane Gillis and Debra L. Meek, both of Lawrence; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Rhonda J. West Neighbors, died earlier.

The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hesper Friends Church, Eudora.
