Injury accidents

A 17-year-old Lawrence girl suffered injuries Tuesday in a three-car collision on Iowa Street.

A 1988 Oldsmobile driven by Francis M. Thomas, 58, Lawrence was slowing for traffic on southbound Iowa about 5:20 p.m. when a 1986 Nissan driven by 17-year-old Kristina L. Mueffel struck the car from behind.

A 1988 Chevrolet driven by 27-year-old Meng Wu, Lawrence, then struck Mueffel’s car from behind and caused Mueffel’s car to strike the Oldsmobile again.

An ambulance took Mueffel to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.
