Cool weather in store for week

Temperatures took a nose dive overnight, dropping down to 39 early Monday morning. And more cool weather is on tap for the rest of the week, says Matt Makens, 6News meteorologist.

Well see lows in the 40s the next couple of mornings, with highs in the 70s to upper 70s, Makens said. But its a good sign that fall is coming and that the pattern is changing. . . . Light jackets will be good to keep out.

The record low for Monday was 36, set in 1983.

Mondays forecast calls for a high of 75 to 76 with some breezes in the afternoon and clear skies, he said. The overnight low will drop to 44.

Tuesdays high temperatures will be in the lower 70s, with few clouds and a light breeze.

No rain is in the forecast through the end of the week, Makens said.

All that moisture is going down to Tropical Storm Isidore, he said. As that comes north, all the moisture will come back to us and our rain chances will increase.
