Hankins-Haack

Tenley Hankins and Justin Haack, both of Ames, Iowa, were married June 8, 2002, in Atwood.

The bride is the daughter of Ken and Mona Hankins, McDonald. The groom is the son of Roger and Sharon Haack, Lawrence.

The bride attends Iowa State University as a nutritional sciences graduate student.

The groom plans to graduate in December from Kansas University with a degree in business administration. He is employed by IKON Office Solutions in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The couple reside in Ames, Iowa.

Heck-Penny

Kim Heck and Jon Penny, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 3, 2002, at Lawrence Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Vogler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jeannie Heck Ruf, Lawrence, and the late Dr. Steve Heck. The groom is the son of Bill and Marlene Penny, Lawrence.

Matrons of honor were Angie Heck and Holly Heck. Best men were Nate Penny and Scott Penny.

Bridesmaids were Laura Hedges, Sarah Penny, Jennifer Grace and Julie Heck. Groomsmen were Brian Heck, Brandon Heck, Bryan Hedges and Luke Urish.

Patrick Carnahan, Nate Coffman, Eric Lessig, Andy Jacobsen, Brent Pearson, Rod Baker, Jeff Hemje and Ted Mabie were ushers. Sarah Vogler and Heidi Lange were guest book attendants.

Alyssa Hill and Julia Pagano were program attendants. Katie Farrell and Abbi Richard were gift attendants. Kyle Padden and Suzanne Hilleary were vocalists.

A reception followed at the Kansas Union Ballroom.

The bride is a 2000 Free State High School graduate. She is pursuing a degree in business administration at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo.

The groom is a 1997 Lawrence High School graduate. He earned his degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2001. He will be employed with Bechtolt Engineering in Durango, Colo.

The couple reside in Durango, Colo.

Hartman-Resz

Sossity Anne Hartman and Joshua Andrew Resz, both of Eudora, were married Aug. 31, 2002, in Abilene with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Christopher Hartman, Topeka, and Hazel Stitt, Abilene. The bride’s grandparents are Audrey and Dan McGrath, and Vera Hartman. The groom is the son of Peter and Barbara Resz, Enterprise.

Maid of honor was Jodie Tyrell. Matron of honor was Leah Geering. Best man was Damon Greep.

Bridesmaids were Crystal Hunt and Heather Hemel. Groomsmen were Alex Berg, Jason Stroda and Chris Stroda.

Zoe Anne Resz and Raven Stroda were flower girls. Noah Nevitt was ringbearer.

A reception followed at the Abilene Pacific Depot Station.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Chapman High School. She is a stay-at-home mother. The groom is employed with Harris Construction Co. in Lawrence.

The couple reside in Eudora.

Salberg-Van Meter

Sandra Kay Salberg and James Lee Van Meter, both of Lawrence, were married June 22, 2002, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. H. Sharon Howell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Delmar and Gloria Salberg, Manhattan. The groom is the son of Michael and Jeanene Van Meter, Winfield.

Matron of honor was Nino Brown and maid of honor was Linda Delker. Best man was Jon Bohlander and groomsman was Clayton Van Meter.

Abigail Salberg was flower girl. Alycia Yapp and Amy Yapp were candle lighters. Stephanie Rawson was guest book attendant. Brian Gigous and Leif Gabrielson were ushers. Nikola Osburn was cake attendant.

The groom is employed by Berry Plastics Co.

Clark-Brack

Jenny Clark and Steve Brack, both of Lawrence, were married June 30, 2002, at Circle S Ranch with Jim Kreider officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lillian Clark, Lawrence. The groom is the son of C.M. and Betty Brack, Lawrence.

Matron of honor was Allison Boydston. Best man was Mike Manning. Brian Wentz was ringbearer. Amy Giles was flower girl.

A reception followed at the Circle S Ranch Party Barn.

The bride is a Lawrence High School graduate and received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Kansas University in 1990. She is an occupational therapist at Three Lakes Educational Cooperative.

The groom is a Lawrence High School graduate and received a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering in 1992 from Pittsburg State University. He is an engineer at Amarr.
