Hadl-Dye

Kristina Hadl and Robert Dye, both of Lawrence, were married May 11, 2002, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Lewis Hinshaw officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Clifford and Sandra Hadl, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Cecil L. Dye Sr., Carlsbad, N.M., and Anna Dye, Oskaloosa.

Matron of honor was Lauren Daniels. Best man was Chris Nicholson.

Bridesmaids were Jamie Engnehl, Jill Prather and Sarah Mozykowski. Groomsmen were Jimmy Jolly, Dustin Ryan and Javier Sanchez.

Ryan Hadl, Jerry Freed, Wes Ramirez and Chris Craig were ushers. Alissa Young was flower girl. F. Matthew Young IV was ring bearer. Kassie Hughes was guestbook attendant.

A reception followed at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 2001 graduate of Kansas University’s School of Business. She is employed at Value Foods in Overland Park.

The groom is a 1996 Lawrence High School graduate. He is employed at Midwest Carpet Center in Tonganoxie.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Sackman-Welter

Katie Sackman and Chad Welter, both of Lawrence, were married Dec. 22, 2001, in Lawrence, with Dr. Jim Dunkin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dwayne and Karen Sackman, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Alex and Penni Welter, The Woodlands, Tex., and Kathy and Dick Stuntz, Lawrence.

Allison Sollars was maid of honor. David Stover was best man.

Bridesmaids were Laura Hubert, Stephanie Welter and Morgan Loveland. Groomsmen were Mike Moddrell, Eric Magnuson and Rich Liess.

Brad Cochran, Natalia Welter and Nikki Welter were program and bell attendants. Abby Rosdahl and Kristy Dubiel were gift table attendants. Glenda Souders was guest book attendant.

David Sackman, Ladd Richesson, Mark Cochran and Kim Sattler were ushers. David Sackman also was reader. Sara Sackman and Cori Mountain were candle lighters. Jenna Sackman, Jordan Sackman, Haley Sackman, Jaycee Mountain and Alexis Mountain were flower girls.

A reception followed at the Lawrence Country Club in Lawrence.

The bride is a Lawrence High School and Kansas University graduate. She is studying at KU for a degree in health policy and management. She is employed by B.E. Smith and Associates as a health-care consultant.

The groom also graduated from LHS. He received Professional Golfers Assn. certification. He is a golf professional with Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City.

The couple reside in Overland Park.

Downing-Ridinger

Eryn Downing and Justin Ridinger, both of Lawrence, were married June 8, 2002, at Eudora United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Shepardson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Clifford and Verna Kay Downing, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jerry and Carol Ridinger, Berryton.

Maid of honor was Erin Griffeth. Best men were Ryan McGinnis and Ryan Wylie.

Bridesmaids were DeeAnn Eichholz, Lydia Oelschlaeger and Leslie Cunningham. Groomsmen were Sam Urbanek and Eric Ridinger.

Jordan Contreras was flower girl. Vernon and Edith Oelschlaeger, the bride’s grandparents, were ring bearers. Jeff White, Kevin Watts, Ashley Oelschlaeger and David Fugett were ushers. Kalli Gragg and Jackie D’Amore were candle lighters. Musicians included Sylvia Duquet, pianist, and Clifford Downing, soloist.

A reception followed at the Eagles Lodge in Lawrence. The couple traveled to Maui for their honeymoon.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and art history from Kansas University in 2000. She is employed by Lawrence Surgery Center in Lawrence.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School. He is employed by WCI in Paola.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Guss-Scraper

Erin Guss, Baldwin, and Brad Scraper, Hiawatha, were married April 20, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Baldwin, with the Rev. Nanette Roberts officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Linda Guss, Baldwin. Grandparents of the bride are Mary Ann Guss and Charlotte Sheppard.

The groom is the son of John and Gerol Moore, Hiawatha. Grandparents of the groom are Francis and Mary Lou Moore, Bob and Vida Scraper and Jubal and Eleanor Koenig.

Kelley Murphy was matron of honor and Michelle Fisher was maid of honor. John Moore was best man.

Bridesmaids were Wendy Lee, Amy Bauer, Kristeen Russell and Erin Morrison. Groomsmen were Brady Rockey, Mike Lewis, Kelly Kelsey, Kelby Meyer and Brady Novack.

Users were Chris Moore, Jeff Moore, Adam Guss and Steve Kander. The flower girl was Britney Hinote and the ring bearer was J.J. Oden. Candle lighters were Terry and Diana Showalter.

A reception followed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence.

The bride is a graduate of Baldwin High School and Emporia State University. She is employed by Iowa Glass Depot.

The groom graduated from Hiawatha High School and Emporia State University and is employed by Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

The couple reside in Baldwin.

Colladay-Mead

Brenda E. Colladay and Charles L. Mead, both of Nashville, Tenn., were married July 12, 2002, in Glasgow, Scotland.

The bride is the daughter of Stella Lambert, Nickerson. The groom is the son of Charles and Lois Mead, Lawrence.

The bride is a Nickerson High School graduate. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Kansas University and a master’s degree in history from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a museum curator at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

The groom is a 1979 Lawrence High School graduate and attended KU. He is a country musician, singer and songwriter.

The couple reside in Nashville.

Tuckwin-Stroud

Shannon Tuckwin and Darin Stroud, both of Lawrence, were married July 19, 2002, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. Al Rockers officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald and Terry Tuckwin, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Jim and Donna Stroud, Grove, Okla.

Maid of honor was Jodie Patterson. Best man was Darryl Bryant.

Bridal attendants were Cheryl Tuckwin and Virginia Sutton. Groomsmen were Rich Allen and Steve Girty.

The flower girl was Anna Green and the ring bearer was Sammy Green. The bride was escorted by Gerald Tuckwin and Alex Tuckwin.

John Tuckwin, John Stroud and Lonnie Stroud were ushers. Lynn Tidwell was organist. Barbara Diedel was soloist. Kylee Miller attended the guest book.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the Ramada Inn.

The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School, Haskell Indian Junior College and Pittsburg State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at the Haskell Health Center.

The groom graduated from Wichita South High School. He attended Haskell Indian Junior College. He is a residential assistant at Haskell Indian Nations University.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico. They reside in Lawrence.

Fugett-Schrick

Julie Fugett and Steven Schrick, both of Lawrence, were married Aug. 17, 2002, at Danforth Chapel in Lawrence, with the Rev. Dan Everly officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Steve and Bonny Fugett, Lecompton. The groom is the son of Robert and Gloria Schrick, Linwood.

Jennifer Fugett was maid of honor. Scott Reed was best man.

Shay Oetting was bridesmaid. Jason Schrick was groomsman.

Michele Berendsen and Phil Goetz were candle lighters. Jeff Perry and Jason Everly were ushers.

A reception followed at the Crystal Ballroom at the Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence.

The bride is a 1995 Perry-Lecompton High School graduate and a 1999 Kansas University graduate in music education.

The future groom is a 1995 Basehor-Linwood High School graduate. He attended Washburn University.
