Whittemore to start against UNLV

Kansas University’s head football coach Mark Mangino announced at a press conference today that Bill Whittemore will be the Jayhawks’ starting quarterback against UNLV this Saturday night in Las Vegas. He explained that while both Whittemore and Zach Dyer had their ups and downs last Saturday against Iowa State, Whittemore gave the team more of a spark.

Coach Mangino declared that no decision had been made at runningback, but did state that freshman Clark Green would see more action in Las Vegas than he did in Ames.

Mangino stayed silent on the condition of Banks Floodman’s torn ACL, saying that MRI results would return to the team Wednesday. Read more about Floodman’s condition in today’s David Mitchell column.
