KC team picks name

Kansas City’s new independent league baseball team will be known as the T-Bones. Officials of the Northern League club said they chose the name from more than 2,200 suggestions. The KC franchise, located in Duluth, Minn., last season, will begin play next summer at a new 5,000-seat stadium north of Kansas Speedway at 110th St. and State Ave.

Benedictine College football player Adrian Garcia, a Lawrence High product, was misidentified in a story in Thursday’s Journal-World.

Clarification

Although Seabury Academy considered Thursday’s cross country meet in Eudora a home meet, it was actually the Eudora Invitational. Seabury is located halfway between Lawrence and Eudora.
