Mark Flory, a member of the Lone Star 4-H Club, received a first-place individual award in the Kansas State Fair Livestock Judging Contest.

He also competed at the Kansas Junior Livestock Show where he won the Senior Swine Showmanship and received Reserve Champion Crossbred Barrow.

His barrow was third overall at the show and was selected to sell at the Auction of Champions.

The Jayhawk 4-H Club met Sept. 9 at Woodlawn School.

The following club officers were elected during the meeting: Bridget Falley, president; Dulce Shultz, vice president; Casey Davis, secretary; Andrea Williams, treasurer; Aaron Trent, corresponding secretary; Devon Bireta, reporter and parliamentarian; Taylor Davis, junior president; Kyle Shirk, junior vice president; Margaret Bireta, junior treasurer. Recreation leaders will be Jeanetta Falley, Brandi Krones and Kristina Krones.

Members turned in record books at the meeting.

The county achievement banquet will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 27. Tickets will be available at the October meeting.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn School.

Items to be discussed include community service ideas and the club achievement program. The program will be about dairy and arts and crafts.

Hosts will be the Williams family.
