She was born June 20, 1922, in Kanopolis, the daughter of Orville Holly and Hazel L. (King) Gilkison. She graduated from Lebo High School in 1941. She had lived in Oskaloosa since 1962.
Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker and child care provider for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Lawrence and bowling leagues in Oskaloosa.
She married Donald A. Griffin on Feb. 7, 1942, in Burlington. He died March 12, 1994.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Griffin, Lawrence, Danny Griffin, Stillwater, Okla., and Rodney Griffin, Oskaloosa; two daughters, Patricia Frisbie, Oskaloosa, and Ronda Turner, Valley Falls; a brother, Orville Gilkison, Madison; a sister, Floreine Purvis, Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
