Lyle W. Waechter

He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Pioneer, Iowa, the son of Anthony and Agnes (Dahlhauser) Waechter. He received a bachelor’s of arts degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and an MSSW from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Mr. Waechter was a psychiatric social worker and had worked in Iowa, East Central Missouri Memorial Health Center and Missouri Girls Town. He was also a union carpenter, builder and contractor. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Waechter married Sue Dobozy on Sept. 13, 1960, in Leon, Iowa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Tom, Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Teresa “Tess” Richardson, Milwaukee, and Cindy Mackenzie, Bellville, Wis.; three brothers, Verne, Ottosen, Iowa, Don, Houston, and Gary, Fort Dodge, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. today at Arnold Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to St. Brendan School, sent to the funeral home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico 65265.
