Ernest W. Bremer

Wellsville :quot; Services for Ernest W. Bremer, 81, Wellsville, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellsville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Wellsville Cemetery.

Mr. Bremer died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at his home.

He was born May 17, 1921, in Vernon, Tex., the son of Henry and Dorothy (Schimoler) Bremer.

In September 1942 he joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II as a truck driver. He was honorably discharged Jan. 16, 1946. He worked as a mechanic for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita for 17 years before moving to Lawrence. He worked in Lawrence at Potter’s Phillip’s 66 for 17 years and lived there for 10 years before moving to Wellsville. He had been in the Wellsville area for more than 30 years. In Wellsville, Mr. Bremer worked for Randy Sinclair and also Cal Schaefer for many years. He was a member of the Wellsville Baptist Church.

He married Agatha Talbert Sept. 26, 1953, in Wichita. She survives of the home.

Survivors include a son, Curtis Lee, Wellsville; two stepsons, Larry A. Talbert, Valley Center, and Gordon R. Talbert, Wichita; a stepdaughter, Darleen Fay Talbert, Wichita; a brother, Joseph Bremer, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Elaine Merritt, Oklahoma, and Eunice Dalton, Cathedral, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville.
