NORMAL, ILL. ? The Kansas University cross country team captured respectable showings at SaturdayâÂÂs NCAA Cross Country Regional at ISU Golf Course in Normal, Ill.

The KU women finished in sixth place after posting a combined time of 1:49:57.19. Junior Paige Higgins led the Jayhawks in 16th place, and sophomore Megan Manthe finished in 38th.

The Jayhawk men finished in seventh place with a combined time of 2:36:03.47. Senior Mark Menefee was the top KU finisher, taking eighth place. Sophomore Chris Jones finished in 15th place.
