It wasn’t quite on the Kobe Bryant level of distress, but Celtics guard Kenny Anderson had his own tummy trouble last week.

Anderson ran afoul of a turkey sandwich Tuesday, which became an issue in the second half of Game 2 against the Nets.

“I ate it three hours before the game,” Anderson said. “At the end of the third quarter, I ran to the bathroom. When I came back, I sat the first four minutes of the fourth. I was out of it.

“My appetite has been messed up the whole playoffs. I don’t eat at the proper time.”

Part of it is nerves. Anderson, an 11-year veteran, never has been this far in the playoffs.

“I keep trying to tell myself it’s just a regular game,” Anderson said. “Don’t do anything I’m not accustomed to doing.”

Anderson’s stomach will really churn if the Celtics advance to the NBA Finals. If that series advances to a Game 7, the Mylanta folks have themselves a new spokesman.

“You know, I don’t know if I ever want to do (a Game 7),” Anderson said. “I’ve never participated in it. That’s the ultimate. That’s do or die. On outside jumpers, the basket gets so tight. I’d much rather beat a team in five games.”

The only thing comparable in Anderson’s career was his freshman year in college, when the point guard led Georgia Tech to the 1990 Final Four.

“I was nervous, because I was nervous for the team,” he said. “We played UNLV, the No.1 team all year, with their pressure defense, and here I am handling the ball the whole game. I had to come through. If you haven’t been in this type of situation and you don’t want to thrive on it, you’re not a big-time player.”

Gooden dandy: As far as numerous NBA scouts are concerned, there are only three players in the draft guaranteed to make immediate contributions next season: Duke’s Jay Williams, UConn’s Caron Butler and Kansas’ Drew Gooden. Memphis’ Dajuan Wagner is considered a close fourth. … Spurs center David Robinson, named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history, announced he’s calling it quits after next season, his 14th. But he already has played his last game at the Alamodome. Robinson’s last season will be in the new SBC center.
