Eileen Hermesch

? Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen Hermesch, 79, Seneca, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hermesch died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at her daughter’s home in Topeka.

She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Marysville, the daughter of H.H. and Florence (Kramer) Voet. She graduated from Marysville High School. In 1951, she and her husband moved to a farm east of Seneca, and in 1958, they moved to a farm south of Seneca, where they farmed and had a dairy operation. In 1980, they retired and moved to Seneca.

Mrs. Hermesch was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society and the Q.A.F. Club, all of Seneca.

She married Albert B. Hermesch on June 17, 1943, at St. Mary’s Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. He died Dec. 4, 1994.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Hermesch, Overland Park, Alan Hermesch, Washington, D.C., and Richard Hermesch, Lawrence; three daughters, Jule Hahn, Wheat Ridge, Colo., Joan Akin, Seneca, and Mary Truhe, Topeka; two brothers, Leonard Voet, Beatrice, Neb., and Francis Voet, Marysville; a sister, Valeria Hermesch, Marysville, and 13 grandchildren.

Two grandchildren died earlier.

A rosary will be said at 2 p.m. Monday at Lauer Funeral Home, Seneca, where a vigil prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to Sts. Peter and Paul School, Midland Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Assn., sent in care of the family.
