She was born Jan. 16, 1945, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., the daughter of Raymond and Margie (Coleman) Ford. She grew up in Lee’s Summit, Mo., and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1962.

Mrs. Smith worked for AT&T and retired from the Lee’s Summit, Mo., office in 1998. She then worked at Birch Telecom for 1 1/2 years until she became ill.

She was a member of Family of Faith Fellowship Church, Eudora.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Englebrecht and Lori Whitten, both of Eudora; two brothers, Gene Ford, Kansas City, Mo., and Roger Ford, Lawrence; a sister, Jo Ann Cook, Eudora; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and until service time Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to Kansas City Hospice or to Family of Faith Fellowship Church, and they may be sent in care of the funeral home.
