Burglaries and thefts reported

A 58-year-old Lawrence woman reported April 21 that her $1,800 diamond earrings have disappeared from a residence in the 1100 block of Stone Meadows Drive. The earrings were last seen Feb. 14, she told police.

A 6-by-12 foot double pane window was broken out at Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Mass. A rock was thrown through the window sometime after 4 p.m. April 18, Lawrence Police said. Damage was listed at $1,000.

Someone broke into a 1991 Geo Metro by breaking a side window, a Lawrence Police report said. A 19-year-old Lawrence woman reported the incident Monday. The car had been parked in the 3700 block of Westland Place during the early-morning hours of Monday.

Two garage doors and a hot tub cover were damaged between 11 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 4500 block of Harvard Road, a Lawrence Police report said. The 41-year-old Lawrence man who reported the vandalism estimated the damage at $1,900.

Injury accidents

A 23-year-old Lawrence woman escaped injury Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle accident that sent an Overland Park man to a Kansas City hospital. Erin Ramsey was southbound on U.S. Interstate 35 in a 1992 Mazda Protege when she attempted to make a lane change, a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report said. When Ramsey noticed a second southbound vehicle a 1998 Jeep driven by 36-year-old James R. Black in her path, she swerved, lost control and struck the left rear tire of the Jeep, which then rolled twice, the report said. Black was taken to Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Overland Park, though a hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of his admittance there. The accident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. in Johnson County.
