A calendar of events section, which lists festivals, educational activities and other seasonal events, will be updated regularly via the new Web site for “A Kid’s Guide to Kansas City,” www.kckidsguide.com.

“A Kid’s Guide to Kansas City” retails for $14.95 and may be purchased at area bookstores.

Caribbean cruises hot

In the months after Sept. 11, cruise lines adjusted itineraries to account for the new travel atmosphere. That shift is reflected in the latest figures on where international cruise lines are sending ships this year.

The top destination, according to the Cruise Lines International Assn., is the Caribbean/ Bahamas, with 46.6 percent of the market, compared with 44.5 percent in 2001.

The second-biggest destination is Europe, with nearly 11 percent of the market, compared with 8 percent in 2001.
