Devil Rays top KC

? Ben Grieve, Randy Winn and Toby Hall homered as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays beat the Kansas City Royals 8-4 Sunday to snap a nine-game losing streak.

Paul Wilson, who had allowed only one earned run in 14 1/3 innings in his previous four outings, held the Royals to two runs one unearned and three hits in 5 1/3 innings before leaving with a sore back.

Wilson, who is not expected to miss a start, was injured while covering first base on Carlos Beltran’s grounder.

Left-hander Darrell May, who pitched the previous four years in Japan, gave up five runs and five hits four for extra-bases in the third inning before retiring a batter.
