Marguerite Lockwood

She was born May 11, 1919, in Chanute, the daughter of Frank and Amy (Bicknell) Edington.

Mrs. Lockwood was active in the Boy and Girl Scout chapters of the Kaw Valley Council and served on the board of directors for the annual Bromelsick Scout Awards. In her early years in Lawrence, she was an Election Board volunteer and had volunteered at Lawrence Memorial Hospital the past 44 years.

She married Robert Lockwood in 1936 in Fort Scott. He died in 1978.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Lockwood, McLouth, and Doug Lockwood, Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Wilma Gaughan, Denver; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Marguerite Lockwood Memorial Fund at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Assn., sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
