Penfold services
Services for Ellen Margaret Penfold, 88, Milton, Fla., formerly of Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Penfold died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Santa Rosa Medical Center, Milton, Fla.
She was born March 12, 1914, in Tonganoxie, the daughter of John Thomas and Hila (Messer) Lee. She lived most of her life in Lawrence before moving to Milton, Fla.
Mrs. Penfold was a homemaker. She was a member of North Lawrence Christian Church.
She married Landis Edgar Penfold Sr. on June 4, 1932, in Lawrence. He died March 6, 1989.
Other survivors include a son, Landis Jr., Milton, Fla.; two daughters, Edith Tennis, Mountain Home, Ark.; Winona Rednour, Murrieta, Calif.; two sisters, Edna Owens, Tonganoxie, and Edith Austill, West Plains, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from noon until service time Monday.
The family suggests memorials to the church or to Covenant Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home.
