Hazel B. Cleveland

She was born June 12, 1914, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Ehlers) Hamann. She grew up in eastern South Dakota. She moved to DeSoto in 1954.

Mrs. Cleveland sold Standly products and worked at a crystal factory in DeSoto until she retired in 1977. She spent her winters in Texas until 1995.

She married Orlo Cleveland on Nov. 18, 1933. He died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Colletta Godfrey, Lawrence; two sisters, Hulda Huff, Sisseton, S.D., and Hertha Kleven, Watertown, S.D.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Two sons, Merlin and Darwin Cleveland, and a daughter, Carol Cleveland, died earlier.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel.
