India FCE will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Douglas County Extension Office. Genny Hunsinger will serve as hostess. The lesson topic will be “Health Benefits of Exercise.”

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Margaret Wulfkuhle. Mary Ann Strong will present the program “Omega-3s: Fats You Should Eat.”

The Lone Star 4-H Club, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, met Feb. 11 at Wakarusa Valley School. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite Valentine’s Day candy. Participants in County Club Days were recognized.

It was announced that camp counselors are needed June 26-29. Members discussed painting murals in Rockhaven Park as a club project.

The club sang a special Valentine song to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”

The next meeting will be Monday.

The Eudora 4-H Club had its bimonthly dinner meeting March 4.

Lacey Gabriel displayed the art projects she made from clay. Jacob Beck showed his 4-H rabbit to the club. Alex Cox introduced his compound bow to members. Kari Hadl showed the club some inexpensive ways to “jazz up” wardrobes.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 1 at St. Paul United Church of Christ. The meeting will be judged as the model meeting.

The club plans to restore some Eudora 4-H signs, including the signs along Kansas Highway 10. The date is to be announced.

Kanwaka 4-H Club met March 5. The meeting was called to order by Scott Bronoski, president. Members answered roll call by naming what they would buy if a leprechaun gave them a pot of gold. Members sang “America The Beautiful.” Guests were introduced and welcomed.

The club was reminded that it will go ice skating today.

Club members, ages 14-16, are invited to participate in the Hazardous Occupation Training in April at the Leavenworth Fairgounds.

Jason McCandless gave a project talk on wood work. The club played “Red Rover” for recreation. Host family was the Wakemans.
