The future bride received her bachelor’s degree in business communications from Kansas University. She is employed as a dental assistant as well as a professional wedding consultant, owning Memory Makers.

The future groom is a 1990 graduate of Lawrence High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from KU. He is an assistant football coach at KU.

The couple plan an April 13 wedding at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Lawrence.

Hacker-Thompson

Lindley and Sharon Hacker, Joplin, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Andrea N. Hacker, to Christian J. Thompson, son of John and Helen Thompson, Foxborough, Mass.

The future bride is a graduate of Joplin High School. She receiver a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree from Kansas University. She is employed as a registered dietitian by KU.

The future groom is a graduate of Foxborough High School. He received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a doctorate from KU. He is on faculty in the Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences Department at KU.

The couple plan a June 15 wedding at First United Methodist Church, Joplin, Mo.

Patterson-Smith

Antoinette Patterson, Overland Park, and Tristan Smith, Kansas City, Mo., announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Cindy Ray, Leon, Iowa, and Gary Patterson, Des Moines, Iowa. She is a 1993 Lawrence High School graduate. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1998 from Kansas University. She is a copy editor at KU’s University Relations.

The future groom is the son of Gregory and Victoria Smith, Kansas City, Mo. He is a 1993 Winnetonka High School graduate. He attended Maple Woods Community College and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is employed as the manager of the Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple plan an Oct. 19 wedding at All Saints Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Mo.

McClurg-Linden

Sally Christine McClurg and Ross Edward Linden, both of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Daviann McClurg, Salina, and Brian McClurg, Parker, Colo. She is a graduate of Salina South High School. She is a student at Kansas University and is employed by J.C. Penney.

The future groom is the son of Edward and Carol Linden, Lebo. He is a Lebo High School graduate. He attended Kansas University. He is employed by Jack Ellena Honda.
