Lawrence Police seized a .32-caliber Colt Revolver from a Lawrence man after a nonviolent dispute at a North Lawrence business. A 24-year-old Lawrence man told police that he took a vehicle to an ATV and motorcycle repair shop in the 700 block of North Second Street to have transmission work done but that it wasn’t completed to his satisfaction, Police Sgt. Dave Hubbel said. The man went to the shop with several friends and demanded that the job be redone or his money refunded, Hubbel said. A shop employee felt threatened and put a pistol in his pocket, Hubbel said. Although the employee never pointed the gun at the customers, one of them saw the weapon and said someone would call the police, Hubbel said, so the employee ran out the back door and took the gun to an acquaintance’s home. Police questioned the employee, but didn’t arrest him, Hubbel said. Officers seized the employee’s gun, which wasn’t loaded, Hubbel said.

 A 63-year-old Lawrence man reported that someone caused $2,000 damage to the driver’s side and hood of his 1992 Ford F-100 pickup while it was parked at his residence in the 1500 block of St. Andrews Drive. The damage occurred between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, a Lawrence Police report said.
