18-year-old sought in Wichita shooting
Wichita ? A man was shot and killed after a scuffle in his front yard, and police were seeking an 18-year-old suspect.
Garrett Boyer, 23, was shot in the back shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday and died at a hospital about 90 minutes later, Police Lt. Ken Landwehr said.
Hal Nixon, Boyer’s next-door neighbor, said he awoke when he heard two men fighting in the front yard.
He said he looked out his front door in time to see a man shoot Boyer. The shooter then jumped into a car and sped off as Boyer collapsed, Nixon said.
Boyer and the shooter are thought to have known each other, Landwehr said.
