Betty Lou Conard

Mrs. Conard died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital, Topeka.

She was born July 1, 1923, in Dodge City, the daughter of Glenn and Alta Marie (Beals) Moore. She attended school in Montezuma and graduated from high school in 1940. She continued her education at Dodge City Community College. She moved to Lawrence in 1985 from Dodge City.

Mrs. Conard retired from Western Power Co., Dodge City, in 1982, after working there more than 20 years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lawrence.

She married John J. “Jay” Conard on March 25, 1972, in Garden City. He died July 15, 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Lynne McCullough, Sacramento, Calif., and Susan Marie Pueschel, Kamuela, Hawaii; two sons, Steven R. McCullough, Kansas City, Mo., and Daryl D. McCullough, Gypsum, Colo.; a brother, Jim Moore, Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the LDS Church Missionary Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
