Sayler services

? Services for F. Dale Sayler, 76, Winchester, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Winchester United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow with private family burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sayler died Friday, May 31, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.

He was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Winchester, the son of William E. and Jessie Agness (Farris) Sayler. He was a 1943 graduate of Winchester High School. He had lived in Winchester since 1992, when he moved there from Paxico.

Mr. Sayler moved in 1947 to Paxico, where he farmed until 1962, when he moved to Topeka and worked as an insurance agent for Security Mutual Life Insurance Co. and then Sentry Life Insurance Co. He then worked as director of industrial safety for the Kansas Department of Human Resources. He retired in 1987 after 18 years of service.

Mr. Sayler was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Davis-Gibson American Legion Post No. 387, Winchester.

He married Suzanna Mae Logsdon June 22, 1947, in Lawrence. She died April 30, 1988. He married Iantha Cowan Davis Oct. 21, 1988, in Wichita. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Edwin W. “Skip,” Lecompton, and Richard Dale, Rio Rancho, N.M.; a daughter, Pamela Sayler Ensley, Topeka; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, where the family will greet them from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
