KU’s Wonder fails to qualify

? Kansas University senior Jennie Wonder did not qualify for the finals of the 100-meter hurdles Friday at the NCAA Outdoor at LSU’s track.

Wonder, who ran in the semifinals’ second heat, was clocked in 13.46 seconds, good for fifth place in her section. The top two placers in each heat and the next best four times advanced to the finals. Wonder finished 11th overall in the semifinals.

On Thursday, Wonder finished third in heat one of the preliminaries of the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.32. Her time was the eighth-best overall and also established a KU record.

Today, Kansas’ Charlie Gruber will run the 1,500, Mark Menefee the men’s 5,000 and Brooklyn Hann in the triple jump.
