Carter services

? Services for Roy L. Carter, 72, Sun City, Ariz., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery.

Mr. Carter died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Sun Help Hospice, Peoria, Ariz.

He was born May 28, 1930, in Topeka, the son of Otis and Mary O. (Stewart) Carter. He lived in Topeka until moving to Sun City, Ariz., four years ago.

Mr. Carter worked for the State of Kansas as a power plant operator for 39 years.

He married Mary Edna Wallace on May 16, 1956, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Michael, El Mirage, Ariz., Bill McDaniel, San Diego, Wayne Wells, Topeka, and David Lee, Cottage Grove, Ore.; three daughters, Shirley Lee, Peoria, Ariz., Maxine Lake, Wetmore, and Bonnie Luthi, Holton; a brother, Robert, Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
