Dorothea E. Flory

Mrs. Flory died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 23, 1912, in Worden, the daughter of William and Louisa (Young) Schwarz.

Mrs. Flory grew up and attended school in the Globe community. She had lived south of Lawrence since 1938 until she moved to Baldwin in 2001.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.

She married Arley Flory on Sept. 9, 1938, in Fairview, Mo. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Dennis Flory, Lawrence; a daughter, Darlene Ann Bard, Olathe; a sister, Erna Holmes, Baldwin; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, where family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
