Burglaries and thefts reported

More than $10,000 worth of construction equipment was taken sometime Saturday or Sunday from a construction site at 901 Vt., according to a Lawrence Police report. The equipment had been stored in a trailer that was forced open. The equipment belonged to three firms, Gene Fritzel Construction Co., 643 Mass., Lynn Electric Co., 2415 Ponderosa Drive, and Chaney Inc., 930 E. 27th St.

Lawrence Police are investigating the disappearance of $300 taken from the Lawrence Aquatic Center, 747 Ky. The money was taken sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday after someone broke into a wall cabinet inside the center’s building. How entry was gained to the building had not been determined, authorities said.

Injury accidents

A two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Ottawa sent three people to the hospital. About 6 p.m., Daniel R. Gast, 33, Pomona, was traveling eastbound on Kansas Highway 68, while Misty D. Sage, 29, Pomona, was traveling northbound on Eisenhower Road, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. From the physical evidence and the driver’s statements, Sage failed to yield at a stop sign, and her 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix entered into the path of Gast’s 1999 Honda Civic. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. Gast had two passengers, Michelle Gast, 32, Pomona, and Massey Gast, 1, Pomona. Both drivers and Michelle Gast were taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and released.
