The Pelathe Community Resource Center has a new director.

Bruce Martin has started in the position on a part-time basis. He also is program coordinator at Upward Bound, a youth program at Haskell Indian Nations University.

Martin works at the Pelathe Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

He has served as director of the center’s New Dawn dancers, on the board of directors and as assistant director. He also was interim executive director when Dave Cade left last fall.

The most recent director, Sherry Gill, resigned in December to help the center save money. Officials said Martin was working at the center on almost an entirely volunteer basis.
