Parks and Recreation of Topeka is now accepting registrations for the 19th annual Kansas Senior Olympics. The early registration deadline is Aug. 16, for $35 per athlete. The final deadline is Aug. 30, for $45 per athlete.

The 2002 Kansas Senior Olympics will offer competition in 16 different sports and 10 “just-for-fun” events. Athletes must be 50 or older by Dec. 31.

The individual and doubles competition will be Sept. 26-29; golf competition will be Oct. 4; and all team sports will be Oct. 3-6.

Senior athletes who meet pre-set requirements at the state level will qualify to participate in the 2003 National Senior Olympic Games May 27-June 9, 2003, in Hampton Roads, Va.
