Grob

Don and Virginia Grob, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 28 at the Union Pacific Depot in Lawrence.

Don Grob and Virginia Zillner were married July 28, 1952, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Planning the reception will be their children: Allen Grob, Gary Grob, Dean Grob, Elaine Grob-Osler, Lawrence; Brad Grob, Overland Park; Janice Grob, DeSoto; and Sue Elder, Newton.

Don is self-employed. Virginia retired from food service for the Lawrence school district in 1997 after 19 years of service.

The couple request no gifts.

Hubbard

Rex and Norma Hubbard, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26.

Rex E. Hubbard and Norma Lou Hamilton were married July 26, 1952, at Central Christian Church in Wichita.

They have lived in Lawrence for 31 years and are retired from their own manufacturer’s representative business.

They have four children: Ronald Hubbard, Lawrence; Richard Hubbard, Lebo; Elizabeth “Libby” Smith, Lawrence; and Lisa Marsden, Ballwin, Mo.

They also have 11 grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate with family in Bailey’s Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin.
